Meet the Director


Box Hill Academy with Director Lauren Innes

Lauren Innes has been a member of the Box Hill City Band Inc. since 2013. Beginning to play the trumpet at school, Lauren has moved onto the cornet playing in Box Hill City Band, as principal cornet of Whitehorse Brass and also an occasional guest cornet player at Traralgon City Band.

Beginning in 2015 Lauren has extended her participation in the organisation as the conductor of Box Hill Academy Band.

Lauren’s learning and experience working with kids ranges from having completed a Bachelor of Arts at Monash University (majoring in Psychology and Communications), currently studying a Bachelor of Education (P-12) at Victoria University to coaching secondary sport and working as a coach at the Ready Steady Go Kids program.

Lauren’s experience working with kids extends to the Ready Steady Go Kids program.


About The Band

Box Hill Academy Brass was established in 2013 as a band for beginner brass students of all ages.

Box Hill Academy Brass aims to promote ensemble skills, which help develop collaborative learning and teamwork. Box Hill Academy Brass presents a fun and friendly atmosphere in which new players can learn to play a brass instrument.

All ages and abilities welcome, no previous experience with music is required.

Rehearsals are held 4.30pm-6.30pm on Tuesdays during the school term. Come down and have a go! Music is universal to all and at any level.
